South West in Bloom awards 2019

bib-logoMilborne Port was entered in to the Cox Cup category together with Cannington and Templecombe. This category covers small villages. Karen Gough, Clive Laughton, Maureen Lock and Phil Lock attended the awards ceremony held at the Atlantic Hotel Newquay together with about 400 other delegates from all over the South West from Swindon in the east to Hayle in the far west.

2019 SWIB awardAll three entries in the Cox category were awarded Silver Guilt medals with Cannington being awarded the Cup.

A sample of the judges overall comments are:

  • The judges were impressed even before they started judging with the portfolio and great presentation by Karen
  • A very good tour with a well peeared route
  • Your marks were consistent across all categories...
  • This is a very high siilver gilt that with some minor tweaking will be a gold in 2020

2019 SWIB IYN awardThe residents of Pud Brook entered the Its Your Neighbourhood (IYN) competition. The judges were pleased to see a year on year improvement and awarded the team a "thriving" certificate. The next level of achievement, the highest level of award is rated as outstanding.
